PRINTING ON NATURAL FABRICS

Thursday, October 18th, 2018

Here is a selection of fabric by the metre that we have recently printed. We often get asked by customers about what colour their background shade will be and here are some examples of customer’s prints that use the natural shade of the fabric to create one of the colours in the print.

The fabrics in the pictures above are natural and bleached linen, cotton panama and cotton stain. The panama and the satin come in two base shades optic and non optic.

This has proved to be very popular and some of our best selling prints are single colours printed onto natural linen and another advantage of creating your prints this way is you can very easily screen print your designs allowing you to get a much better print price.

HTS can print digitally, rotary screen or flat bed print any of your print requirements and we have very low minimum orders at very competitive prices. If you would like any samples of the base shades listed above or any information regarding our bespoke printing service please visit www.htsprint.co.uk or drop give one of our team a ring on 0800 234 6686 and we will be more than happy to discuss your print enquiry.

CAMOFLARGE PRINTING

Tuesday, August 7th, 2018

Here is a really good example of how to use both DIGITAL FABRIC PRINTING and ROTARY SCREEN PRINTING to achieve a successful end result. This design has been technically designed by our Australian client by arranging a selection of small areas of colours to create the camouflage to work perfectly in their environment and as you can see (or not see!) from the attached pictures they have achieved this.

The design was created to be printed digitally and this allowed the size of the colour blocks to be very small and the fit to be so precise that the blocks of colour fall exactly how the designer required them to create the camouflage. The client supplied the individual separations with TPX Pantone references and the sample prints were all printed digitally and looked fantastic.

However there was a major problem with printing this design digitally it required to be printed on a dyed ground so that the reverse of the fabric was not white. This now made the print almost impossible to print digitally so we had to try and print it with rotary screens on a colour matched dyed ground. Our design studio then had to be place the design into a rotary screen repeat and engrave a test engraving to make sure we could engrave the design with the blocks being so small, both of these were achieved successfully. The base fabric was a polycotton ripstop and this now required to be dyed exactly to the required base shade which we used a local dyer to do with a successful outcome.

The rotary screens were then engraved, colours matched the original digital prints and then bulk printed. This allowed the customer to get exactly what they required in terms of print mark on a dyed ground and it was also done at a much lower price per metre.

This is a great example of using both digital fabric printing and rotary screen printing to get the best out of both print techniques. For more information on HTS print services please visits www.htsprint.co.uk or give us a ring on 0800 234 6686 to speak to one of our team.

HTS Print Furnishing Fabrics and Cushions for Chelsea Flower Show

Sunday, May 13th, 2018

HTS has printed and manufactured an exclusive range of home furnishing fabrics and cushions for artist Evelyn Binns.

The strict botanical accuracy and superb artistry of seven-times RHS Gold Medal winner Evelyn Binns can now be appreciated in a new and totally exclusive range of home furnishing fabrics, cushions and even bespoke wallcoverings.

What distinguishes this unique collection from most ‘floral’ fabric designs is its use of new textile printing technology to achieve completely faithful reproduction of Evelyn’s beautiful botanical watercolour paintings on a wide range of high quality fabrics.

The Botanical Home range currently includes the four furnishing fabric designs and six cushion designs, they are all feather filled and are available in 45cm and 60cm. The 54” width fabrics are available in a variety of 100% cottons including cotton satin, half-panama, linen union and bleached linen.

This will be Evelyn’s 14th consecutive Chelsea Flower Show so they are a well established exhibitor. If you are visiting Chelsea this year you can see the collection at stand number EA113 which is at the upper end of Eastern Avenue, traditionally the part of the show where all the artists can be found. The 11 acre show is open to the public from Tuesday 21 to Saturday 25 May and attracts a total of over 150,000 visitors.

BESPOKE PRINTED CUSHIONS WITH MATCHING PIPING

Tuesday, April 17th, 2018

Nice collection of colour matched bespoke printed cushions with matching piping. This collection is printed front and back on a really nice 250gsm cotton panama with printed striped matching piping.

This is a really good example of how digital printing can create a really bespoke collection of cushions without having to print hundreds of cushions. HTS printed the cushion fronts and backs together and then printed metres of the striped fabric to be cut up into piping. The cushions are all constructed with the matching colours and finished off with nice feather filler. We can also sew in customers own woven labels at no extra charge to give that extra bespoke finish.

HTS can offer this service on any of our fabrics and we don’t have large minimum orders and because the print process is digital you can have mixed designs on the same print run.

NEW PRICELISTS AND FABRICS AVAILABLE

Saturday, February 24th, 2018

HTS has added several new fabrics to their range and re-structured their printing and cushion pricelist.

HTS has purchased large volumes of stock fabrics and this has allowed us to obtain a better price from our fabric merchants and we can now pass on these savings on to our customers.

The price per metre has been dropped to offer customers much more competitive print prices and one of the big advantages of digital fabric printing is that you can print more than one order in a single print run and as long as it’s on the same fabric you will qualify for the lower print price.

This lower print price has also transferred over to the cushion pricelist and the immediate feedback we have had from our customers is that the new prices are allowing them to venture into new markets. Our pricelist has our three standard cushion sizes but bespoke sizes are also available and they come with feather or polyester cushion fillers.

We have added several new fabrics and we have also just commissioned a new linen collection to be woven. There are new cotton fabrics available and we also have a brand new range of contract polyesters which are all fully flame retardant.

If you would like to receive our new pricelist and samples of our new fabrics just drop us an email to info@htsprint.co.uk or visit our website www.htsprint.co.uk. If you would like to speak to one of our experienced team members please give us a call on 0800 234 6686

Printing Designs On Fabric

Tuesday, December 5th, 2017

HTS are very proud to announce that we are now printing for The National Trust. We were approached by them to see if we could reproduce an archive fabric for a property they were in the process of restoring back to its former appearance. The original design was photographed by The National Trust and supplied to us in a digital format. We then printed this on a heavy weight cotton satin fabric and it matched the original exactly which is amazing because the original design was a weave. Bespoke printed Christmas design on cotton ½ panama. This is a good example of a blotch print with the designer using the white of the base fabric as part of the design. Digitally Printed Fabric Samples

Saturday, July 22nd, 2017

Here are some sample prints on the various fabrics we can offer. Lots of customers find it hard to visualise how their design will look on different fabrics so here are some examples of different sample prints we have recently completed. We can offer re-colouring of existing designs, plus you can place different prints on small samples to make the best use of the fabric. A good example of this are the kitchen designs for Jamie Oliver, grouping several designs on the one print run.

One question we get asked all the time is what is the difference between the different print techniques we offer and why do we have the different options. Our customer base is so varied and which is why we offer the different print options. From printing camouflage for the military to high end fashion and furnishing to bespoke contract fabrics we really do now have a fabric for all print requirements.

Pigment printing on cottons and linens. This is ideal for furnishing printing for curtains and cushions and allows us to print on really nice linens and cottons plus we can use the colour of the fabric as the background shade of the print. Pigment printing gives a really good print mark and is a dry clean only product. Pigment prints are printed directly onto the fabric and are then baked to fix the colour and it is a very user friendly way of printing small runs and we can offer any minimum on pigments also we have a wide range of cottons and linens to choose from.

Reactive printing on cottons and linens. HTS can now offer reactive printing on cottons and linens and these prints can also be used for furnishing prints. As the prints can be washed, reactive prints can be used for apparel and garment printing. It offers printing on much finer fabrics such as cotton lawn and voiles and the colour range can print really bright colours. The reactive dyes are printed into the structure of the fabric, it is then steamed to fix the print and then has to be washed and finished. Because of the finishing process we have a 10 x metre minimum order on reactive prints.

Disperse printing on synthetic fabrics. Man made fabrics are becoming really popular for printing and our bespoke collection has lots of really nice looking fabrics. The advantage of printing on these fabrics is that the durability of the print and fabric is fantastic which allows us to print on fabrics which are on inherently flame retardant and can be installed in hotels, schools, and restaurants etc. The range of fabrics is quite remarkable from deckchair canvas to really nice poly/cottons for cushions.
